First baby of the year!!! WAHOO :)

Kidding season has finally started here! Cookie kidded March 8th, 2012 with a single(yes ONE) Little doeling! Shes absolutely stunning! I have named the little cutie Snickerdoodle! No guess that she will be staying here! She is so pretty and for once I have seen a baby doe that DOESNT look like her daddy, Jasper! Jasper has thrown so many buckskins and for once we have a sweet little brown and while doe! So precious to start the kidding season off with not only a perfect, easy kidding with no problems, but shes a GIRL! Usually when you see a single, you automatically assume its going to be a boy! But not this one!

OK enough talking....Time for the PICS!

Getting ready for kids!

Its almost time and im getting excited and nervous! We had a not so nice kidding season last year. Not only was it a bad buck year, it was also filled with bad kiddings! Hopefully this year will be better! It has too!

Cookie has less than 2 months to go! Shes the first one due and has those wonderful Jasper babies im waiting for! Jasper has been known to throw a good amount of Boys and Girls so im really hoping this time he gives me more girls! I need a doe year so bad and this year would be perfect! Lots of reservations to fill plus I havent gotten a single wether or buck reservation! Everyone wants girls!

Speaking of reservations, if anyone is interested in wethers let me know! Im sure I will have a lot! And while they are very cute, I dont plan to keep ANY! I just dont have any extra room so please send anyone my way looking for some pet wethers!!

Well thats it for now :) Until next time....

Babies?? Awwww!!

Well I finally bred my last doe a few days ago! It was nice to be done with breedings for a few months(pending how the wattle girls grow). Now I have a total of 6 does due throughout the next 5 months.

Cookie is first up! Due March 1st to Jasper. Shes looking really good and im just PRAYING that this kidding goes smoothly. Honestly I cant handle another bad kidding season....CANT! Im not sure what would happen to me if it did! I was SO ready to quit last year! UGH. But Cookie is so dang pretty and I am trying to stay positive. I felt her babies kicking like crazy last week which totally made me super excited. I havent felt babies like that since Jenny was preggo last year. Speaking of Jenny(my unregistered brat), she was bred to Titan and is due May 30th.

After Cookie we have Corona who is due March 14th to Sage. I bought(or was rather given) Corona on a doe back deal which means I have to give up first choice doe to her old owner. Not that big of a deal since I have Corona but im really hoping she has a couple girls! Sage has been a big doe producer so far! Theres hope...

Lotus is next, shes due April 1st GO FIGURE! Courageous bred her and these will probably be my only kids from him. Sadly but oh well. Poor Lotus has been through so much! I really hope she kids with no problems!!

Little Bev is due April 5th to Max(one of my FAVORITE bucks!!). Hes all black with wattles...Hubba hubba!! Poor Bev though! Shes really small! I bred her at 45 pounds and still feel bad! She was 1 pound when she was born and has always been a small girl. I expect her to have 1 baby(like her mom did) and thats it. REALLY need this to be a easy kidding. Bev is pretty special and has a lot of potential.

Last but not least! Georgia and Jenny were both bred last week(totally spaced on the date) but are due May30th to Titan. Both girls and Titan have blue eyes! It will be really cool to see what these girls have

I will be a WRECK when everyone starts getting close. Only because last year really opened up my eyes and showed me the dark side of breeding. It was just one thing after another and hit us so hard. I have my school schedule set around kidding season! How dorky is that?? I will be going to school EARLY in the morning so that I can rush back to see the goats and make sure I can monitor them. Like I said its going to be tough!

Well, im bad!

I know I havent written in forever! I have been busy!

Some updates!

I bred 5 girls for this coming spring. Most have reservations filled but there are still some doe reservations and LOTS of wethers reservations left

I have some pet quality does being bred, Polled and Blue eyes possible on both of them so lots of nice babies prices much cheaper because they wont be registered.

I decided to sell Courageous. I LOVE him to death but hes not getting used enough here. He had 1 girl this fall and my other boys have gotten 5 or more(from other farms) I feel bad so he should go somewhere where he can be used!

Oh I got a new buck LOL. His name is Titan, although he doesnt have super amazing lines, he has great confirmation plus he is black with moonspots and blue eyes! Cant wait to get some kids out of him.

I will be making a trip in May to Washington with my good friend Laura! OH ya I guess I should mention her a little LOL

So a couple months ago I met her online through her website and last month I went to meet her while I was in Placerville. WOW we were talking goats for hours and now we are great goat friends! She borrowed Jasper and also took Beverly to be bred to my favorite buck of hers, Max. Hes black with wattles and MAN I love him. Anyway shes planning to make a HUGE trip to washington in may and invited me! How can I say no? I cant wait! I will be meeting some awesome goat friends and bringing back goaties!

Me and Laura are also Co Owning a buck together! He will be born in March, stay tuned!

Well, I think thats it....for now! If you want to get up to date news "like" my farm page on facebook! I always update pretty fast on there!

Finally! After 4 years of waiting!!

Ever since I got into goats, actually before when I was just drooling, I always had a thing for Wattles! For those who DONT know what wattles are, they are little flabs of skin on a goats neck, usually 2 and the same size. Well they have always been an obsession to me! I think they are almost cuter than the goat!

Anyway, I have had TONS of trouble finding them here, because even though people own goats with wattles, doesnt mean the goat and her babies are going to be nice. I was feeling hopeless....:(

Then this march, I was looking on my goat group emails, theres not much that I respond too, but it was the friday market and everyone was advertising goats for sale everywhere! Its fun to see how other people market and talk about whos for sale, also gives me a chance to drool and wish I was rich so I could buy each nice goat LOL

Well, There was 1 email I saw that for some reason I felt I needed to read, weird since I barely read them, well when I clicked on it, it was a farm in Ohio so I thought why even bother? Then I saw 1 pic and....WATTLES! So I read on and sure enough this breeder had a wattle buck and had alot of his kids for sale who indeed had wattles! Oh and this buck wasnt just ANY BUCK, He was a Buttin Heads goat! The breeder of Buttin Heads was a GREAT breeder and unfortunately passed away so these lines were important to have! Not only was this boy amazing with his bloodlines, he was also a FINISHED CHAMPION in one registry! OK I was hooked! I looked at his girls and beautiful!

So I emailed the breeder and BEGGED her to see if she knew any transportation coming here, I couldnt afford shipping! Well she emailed me back and said she really wanted me to have a doe from her so she said she would work with me.

After all this.....I now am the PROUD owner of 2 lovely wattle does! These girls were flown in from Ohio last week and are doing great! They are 5 months old and are very dairy and colorful! One is a cute little chammy, and the other is a very flashy buckskin! They will most likely be bred this fall...

Well I thought the story would be nice! It was hard keeping it a secret, but in the end im SO grateful! If anyone would like this breeders contact info, let me know!

Thanks SOOOO MUCH Colleen, you have no idea how much this means to me

Havent been on in a while!

So, Im really sad I havent been on in forever! My original plan was to be able to go on as much as possible and write here all the time, of course that hasnt happened!

Havent had internet here in a couple months, so finally I am able to update!

Yesterday was Lotus's 1 year Birthday, she is doing so well and looks very nice!

All the goats seem to be doing well, we had a bad kidding year, but im trying to forget about that and focus on this years breedings! Im pretty excited about the pairings this fall, going to be some great pairs and we should have nice kids, if all goes well!

Well, hopefully I will update again soon :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASPER!!! :)

YEP thats right, today is Jaspers FIRST birthday! I cant believe it has been a year, he still seems like my baby boy, and sure does act like it!

Well, its a pretty interesting story on how I ended up getting this AMAZING buck, so I thought I would share it :)

In february of 2010, I went with my friend to go to Castle Rock farm, one of the best nigi farms in California, she was picking out her buck and told me that I should try and get one.

The end of February there were some babies, and a buck for sale, he was really cute, and polled, I thought, why not?? So I bought him. Well unfortunately it wasnt meant to be, he passed away when he was only a few weeks old, I was really sad, but knew that because this farm is so popular I really needed to go back and get another one before it was too late.

Well I went into the baby area, I was all alone, everyone else was getting some bottles ready, I saw this really cute little gold baby, I really wanted to hold it, so I put my hands out to hold her and all of a sudden this BIG buckskin boy jumped into my hands and demanded love, so since he was pretty cute I sat down and held him. He looked at me and BIT me! I was so mad, but as soon as that happened I fell in love, I knew it was meant to be, he fell asleep in my lap and I knew he was mine. It was like it was meant to be because when everyone came in they said he was the one for sale, I was so happy!

I got to take him home and bottle feed him, he was at my friends house but I would go over and feed him. I decided to call him Jasper, and it totally fits him! NO!! I didnt name him Jasper from twilight!! Jasper is also a Gemstone, and it fit into his theme!

Im so happy I have Jasper, he has turned out to be an amazing boy, at first he had the BIGGEST ears ive ever seen, I wanted to call him dumbo LOL but now hes grown into a very handsome boy, and so far his kids have been super dairy and very pretty!

I think Jasper is definently one of my favorite goats, and he sometimes gets more love than my girls, dont judge me! I dont care if he smells LOL

Well, heres a pic of him when he was a baby, dont make fun of his ears!! lol

Here he is now!! I love him :)
