The year is coming to an end.....

As the year comes to an end, I have been thinking about everything that has happened this year. So I decided to put it on here!

January 2010: I only had Jenny, Lilly, Shirley, Pinky, Daisy and then the boys Blacky and Sunny. All girls were bred, except Pinky, she was pretty small. All the girls were very fat and had some cute preggy bellies! This was a good breeding and I was excited!
I also joined the MOST AWESOME Goat forum every this month, I wouldnt make it without this forum and the friends I have made through it are the best!

February 2010: Jenny was due this month, my BABY girl. I sold Pinky and Shirely together to a very awesome home. I decided to go on a little roadtrip with my friend from northern cali to Washington, first time leaving cali! It was very pretty, and we picked up some really nice does, my doe tawnie went back to my friends to get bred by her buck.
Jenny kidded while I was gone, she had 2 beautiful baby boys! Who went to great homes and I sure do miss them.
NOT TO MENTION. This month was my FIRST EVER time going to one of the BEST nigi farms ever, Castle Rock. And thats when the buck search began...

March 2010: EARLY march, I got a little buckling from castle rock, he was very nice! But unfortunately he passed away very suddenly....Buck search was back on.
Lilly kidded with one doe and one buck, I retained the doe, her name is Callie and she is so NICE! I was very proud of Lilly, she didnt need any help, and she was one of the best mothers I have. I also sold Sunny my buck this month, he is the first and only buck in my name right now.

April 2010: I went to castle rock, because There were a couple more bucklings that had become available, went to pick up the cutest little goat, when all of a sudden....OUCH! This little brat bit my finger, and then literaly jumped into my arms when I was trying to get another baby. I knew this brat was going to be in my future, he was the prettiest baby boy, when I asked if he was for sale, he ended up being one of the ones I came for, took him home and now hes my Jasper boy! Jasper definently picked me, I didnt pick him! But I couldnt be happier, hes an amazing buck, and im glad I got him now, his dams prices have gone up for babies.
I got a very nice doe, Dory, from a friend. She was really nice, I was excited to show her.

May 2010: Paddy kidded with a Single buck....OF COURSE! Then the end of may was the county fair, took Callie, Holly, and Dory
  • Holly got 3rd place
  • Dory got 6th place
  • Callie got 4th place
June 2010: Wasnt a big month, I left to go work at a summer camp, so nothing happened this month, Shirley also kidded, quad boys!

July 2010: While still at camp, my friend doe kidded, one doe, one buck. It was the highlight of my month LOL

August 2010: Finally home, and Tawnie kidded, 2 amazing little doelings, I sold one. I also sold, Tawnie, Blacky, Dory. OH and I took in some of my friends goats, she had to sell out. I got, Porshe and her baby Lotus, Georgia, and Adelle.

September 2010: We had an OOPSIE baby this month, Holly kidded with a single girl, who I kept! She was the best suprise ever!

October 2010: Sold Shiloh and Holly. Needed to cut down! I had alot of goats. Also had a big Cocci problem, Pearl(tawnies baby girl) and lotus, got really sick and skinny.

November 2010: Daisy kidded, we were very happy! Treated everyone, and the sickness seemed to be under control. Jasper was gone breeding my friends does, so all my girls got to be in the big pen happy and playful with no men around!
Cocci came back, and Pearl didnt make it, she passed away. Lotus got really sick and almost didnt make it, shes currently at my friends house getting back into shape, shes doing good!

December 2010: Finally got Jasper back, and right when he got back he was ready for work! Before he came back though I knew I wanted to try and get another buck, I felt that I needed one. So I was on the hunt for a new buck. Sold daisy and her baby! Lots of girls bred up! I also found a buck! Hes very nice and I cant wait to use him!

What to expect in the new year?

Well.....We may be moving to a better place for the goats
Babies will be arriving around May, and Im probably going to be retaining a couple. I may be adding a few new does to my herd, Im still on my wattle search

All I want, is for all the goats to stay healthy, I cant handle them being sick! But we will be hoping for healthy goats, healthy deliveries, healthy babies, and happy goaties!

Hope you all have a great new year :)

Found out some GREAT news!

So my friend bought 2 does from me last year, and she wanted them bred to Jasper. I really didnt think he would be ready to breed in september, but she took her girl to the vet and shes been confirmed PREGNANT!! Im just SO happy because Jasper is an amazing buck and I want to see babies really bad!

Also, Sweetpea, who was one of the girls I sold, was out of my very first kids registered in my herdname! So now shes pregnant and the babies will be the result of my breeding!  Im just so happy and excited.

I dont have any new pics of her, but heres a baby pic of her :)
Yes, thats right, be jealous of my grassy field! And thats me with little sweetpea, my very first kids, about 2 years ago. I havent layed in that pasture like that since these babies were here. Now its full of Alpaca Poo and goats!

These goats are my life, This is what I do whenever I possibly can. Im the kind of girl that likes playing with goats, and laying in grass, its what I do :)

Well shes gonna be a mommy, for the first time, and her mom is also going to be mom, my friend bought SweetPea and her Momma Shirley. I cant wait for babies, Im going to be so jealous when everyone else has babies and I DONT!

In The middle of breeding season

So normally breeders start breeding goats anywhere from August to March, some earlier, and later. Most of my goatie friends are just about done, me on the other hand...Well I had a very late start!

A few months ago, Jasper was deciding that he just wanted to be a baby boy and not even try to get any girls.  Since I had no use for him, I decided to let him go up to my friends house, she bought a couple girls from me last year. I promised her I would let her borrow Jasper. So he went up there around the end of September, we thought he would stay a couple weeks, get his job done and then come home.

Heres what he looked like before he left, little, and sweet looking! People were asking me if he was a girl!

He ended up staying until december! I sure missed my boy! And when he came back I didnt even recognize him! He was bigger, and had a bunch of HAIR! He was very manly looking, and smelt like a buck! Im glad hes back because this means I can finally start breeding!

I couldnt take any pics of Jasper after he came home, because honestly I dont want to go near him, he STINKS! I will get some pics after rain cleans him up a little! But hes very eager to breed.

So looks like I will have late spring/summer babies which is totally great with me, means I dont have to worry about babies getting cold!

I cant WAIT to see Jaspers first kids, these are gonna be some really nice kids!

On another note, My very first Registered goat Lilly, will be going to a new home soon. Its really hard for me to let her go, but her new owner is a good friend and I just know shes going to a great home! Luckily we have her 2010 daughter, Callie. Shes a replica of her mommy, I cant wait to see her first babies!

Well off to go look at goat websites and find more goats I want!

Something New

Well I have never really done anything like this but I thought maybe its time to start blogging and letting everyone know whats happening on the farm! I also will add in some stuff from my life although its probably not as cool as hearing about the goats!

I dont really have much to say now, just that good things will soon come, just gotta figure out when lol. Check back often, I plan to write as much as I can. And if you have any suggestions please feel free to email me and im sure I can add it in here.

Right now im not even with my goats, im currently in Oroville, CA at my dads house, I come here alot, and I am seriously considering moving here. Im going to be here until after thanksgiving but that doesnt mean I cant answer emails and talk about goats, thats like my FAVORITE thing to do.

Unfortunately Friday, November 19 I lost my dear Pearl. She was sick for a while, about 2 months ago she got really sick, I treated her and she got much better, little did we know she was actually still very sick. She didnt show any signs of being sick or not feeling well, the only thing we could see was that she wasnt gaining weight, she looked very skinny. She passed away very peacefully, my mom held her and told her everything was ok and that we loved her. Im so very devastated about not being there for her, I hadnt seen her since last sunday and even then I didnt really go and love on her, I wish I could of done something to save her. Honestly friday I was so depressed I wanted to sell my whole herd and just give up on goats. Thats a BIG thing for me to say because everyone who knows me can see that I care so much about these goats and I honestly cant get through my life without them. Pearl made me realize that although it sucks losing her, I need to get back to the herd and make sure they are ok. Im still very sad about losing her and I know I will be for a very long time. R.I.P Pearl, Our Little Angel. Thanks so much to everyone who has been so sweet and supportive of me, I was to give a special thanks to Sarah Millers, she was a great friend to me during this awful time.
